The Long Story of Women’s Suffrage in Black and White, 1848 to the Present

This is an exhibit highlighting various events in the history of women’s suffrage that incorporates the African American contributions that are often overlooked in the more generally known story of white women. Curators and contributors include Patricia Williamson of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Lela Hughes of the Raritan Valley National Council of Negro Women and interns from the Rutgers University Public History Program including Veronica McMasters, Noel Dempsey, and Adelina Begu.
