African-American Stories from Burlington County

February 9 at 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

| Free

By 1790, Burlington County had the largest black population of New Jersey’s southern counties and the largest free black population in the state. Burlington County had a significant Quaker presence, and many slaves were aided by this group’s commitment to freedom for all races. Some of the earliest African-American communities can be found here. In honor of Black History Month, Marisa Bozarth will tell the stories of the people and places that contributed to this strong African-American presence in Burlington County.
